Generating traffic is the hottest topic for online business owners to talk about. There are countless ways to generate traffic so which method is the best? This article will reveal the one traffic generation technique your company needs to focus on, to maximize sales.

To find out what is the most effective way for generating traffic to your website, consider 3 things:

- Your Market
- Your Interest
- What’s Working

1. Your Market

Ask yourself where your prospects are, where they hang out and what do they read.

This information is very important because it tells you where your prospects are most likely to read your sales message.

If they stay at home most of the time, then you need to sell them via direct mailing. If they read a lot of magazines then you need to place your ad in the magazines they read.

You can use pay per click marketing if you know that the majority of your prospects searches the internet for information.

So understand your prospects first and then work on the traffic generating tasks.

2. Your Interest

This is very important if you’re working alone and don’t have any staff. It is best to work on marketing that you are interested in.

For example, if you hate writing then it’s not advisable for you to write articles daily and submit them to article directories. Your only alternative, if you have the money, is to outsource the task.

This is where a lot of online entrepreneurs make the mistake in trying to generate traffic to their website. They work on their marketing doing tasks which they find boring, don’t like or even hate doing.

If you don’t have any passion in your work, your prospects won’t feel passionate about your products. Your feeling is reflected in the ad you write.

3. What’s Working

The best way to approach traffic generation is to try one method and put your best effort in making it work.

When your marketing is live, you must monitor the results and determine if what you’re doing is effective. Spend a lot of time working on one traffic building technique and decide if it’s working for you, before working on the next method.

If you find that a particular method is effective in driving traffic to your website, put all your effort into it. Do more of it and try to improve the performance.

For example, if you find that placing a particular banner on targeted blogs drives a lot of traffic to your website, then find more targeted blogs and do the same thing. Change a few minor things in your banners and see if it improves the conversion rate.

Once you find something that is working then put all your effort into it and scale it up.

This is how you find out what the best method is to generate traffic to your website. If other people tell you something that works, you can try it out but don’t believe them totally. The reason is, your business and prospects may be different to theirs.

Once your have a traffic generating method that is working well, automate it. Outsource it to freelancers so that you can focus on other traffic generating techniques. Once you find another method which brings you a lot of traffic, try to combine the two methods and leverage off each other and come up with your own traffic generation system. Rinse and repeat.

Every internet marketer has been screaming to you that the money is in the list. So the inexperienced marketer does what he’s told and creates as many squeeze pages as he can to collect as many email leads as possible.

9 times out of 10, the newbie will not be able to sell to their list. The reason is because they don’t know how to. They just bribed the prospects to get on their list and then promote their offers.

Wrong…Wrong…Wrong.

Watch this video and see how a successful internet marketer managed to get me buy a ton of products on this list.

5 Reasons Why Your Press Release is a Failure

Writing a press release is one of the most cost effective marketing strategies a company can use. It’s very cheap and the effect can be nothing short of breath-taking. It is surprising why a lot companies don’t use this type of marketing more. It could be that they found their previous press releases being ineffective. Here are 5 mistakes to avoid your press release being a failure.

1. Your Objective

When you publish your press release, you must understand what the objective is with the news story. Is it to make the public more aware of your business, is it to tell them that you have a special promotion, is it for collecting leads or is it for selling your new product?

When you are clear with your objective, you will write a much better story. There are many times when a company writes a press release with no clear objective. They just think it’s a good idea to write one.

If you would like the public to know that you have a new product, then the whole of your article should be targeted on what your new product is and how it benefits the customers.

Once you have this explained in your story, give the public information on how they can visit your store or business and purchase your new product.

2. Self Promotion

If you treat a press release like a self promoting advertisement, then your story won’t be distributed. You have to understand that journalists and editors that are reading your news have to decide whether it’s worth publishing or not.

If your news is a blatant advertisement, then the public won’t be interested in reading about it. Therefore there is no reason for the journalist to publish it in the media.

So before you send out your release, ask yourself if the article focuses too much on promoting your products with no benefiting news to the public.

3. No call to action

After you end your story, is there a call to action for the reader? This is important because it is what matters at the end of the day. This is why you need to know what your objective is for the press release.

It’s normal to have your contact information at the end of your article and instruct the reader to take action. This could be to visit your website for more details, visiting your business with a discount coupon or ringing a recorded message for the latest news.

4. Search Engine Optimization

One of the major benefits of distributing your company’s news online, is to rank your website high for certain keywords. Since the press release websites are authority websites which search engines like, the link to your website will help you rank high for your targeted keywords.

When distributing your article, make sure that you put the relevant keywords in the title and throughout the content of your story. This will help people to find your story using the search engines and therefore give you more traffic.

5. Following up

After you distribute a press release, make sure that you follow up with the journalists or editors. Ask them if they received your story and if you could provide them with more information. This will increase the chances of your story being published.

If you avoid these mistakes when distributing your press release, you should be able to get a lot of sales and enquiries for your business. If you are uncomfortable with writing a press release and have trouble coming up with a news-worthy story, you can outsource this to professionals who can help you market your business effectively.

Information product creation is a simple task once you have two or more products under your belt.

But when you first start out with creating your first ebook or physical product, expect a lot of obstacles and frustration. Especially when the damn thing doesn’t sell.

What a lot of people don’t understand is how to approach creating an information product.

Once you have an idea to create an information product, you should immediately start building a targeted list. Collect these leads that are interested in your product and ask them what sort of information they want to read about. Here are the steps on how to achieve this.

1. Free Report

Create a free report that is related to the product you’re selling. If you have an idea to create an information product on how to market a printing company, create a report discussing the mistakes printing company owners make with their marketing.

The readers of this report will be targeted to owners in the printing industry. If you’re in the food industry, you won’t be interested. The objective of the report is to capture the attention of the printing company owners and have them trust you by educating them and showing your expertize.

2. Professional Squeeze Page

Create the best looking squeeze page you can and offer your free report as a gift for people to sign up for your newsletter. Get a graphic designer to create this squeeze page. There should be no other links on this squeeze page apart from a subscribe button to download the free report and sign up to your list.

3. Following Up

Next create several messages which should be sent to your subscribers every 2 or 3 days using an autoresponder account. The first email should be sent immediately thanking them for joining your list and offering the free report for them to download.

Your other messages should all contain good tips which your subscribers can use. It is best to offer one easy to use tip per email.

With some of the emails, tell them a little about yourself and try to build a relationship. Your objective is to get them to know you, trust your advice and read all the emails you send them. It’s critical therefore you don’t make a mistake and spam them with unrelated offers or being rude to them. Treat them like your most valuable customers.

4. Survey

After a few weeks of providing good tips to your subscribers, start to tell them about an idea for an ebook that you want to write about. Tell them the topic and what you want to cover. This is the information product which you were thinking of creating before you started creating the free report and squeeze page.

Now wait for your subscribers’ response. Depending on your relationship with them, you should receive quite a few responses. If you find that the response is not so good, offer them something free as a bribe to give you feedback.

The best way to do this is to offer a free review copy of the ebook for the first 20 subscribers who reply. This normally gets the feedback coming in.

For the feedback, make sure you ask useful questions such as are they interested in the topics, what other topics would they like you to write about, would they purchase such an ebook and how much would they pay for it.

These 4 steps are your first task before you start creating your information product. Creating the free report (about 5 pages) and writing the follow up emails should not take too much of your time. But with the feedback, you should know if it’s worth pursuing with the information product creation. If the figures look poor, then ban your information product idea. You would have saved yourself lots of hard work with nothing to show for it.

Here’s a video on how to set up and configure your Amazon S3 account.

Amazon S3 account is an excellent service for storing your web videos. Depending on how many people view your videos, the cost is very low.

It’s much better than storing the videos on your own server because Amazon S3 is fast and has huge storage space. A lot of internet marketing experts use this service for their videos.

After watching the video on how to set up and configure your Amazon S3 account, the next video will be how to play the videos from the Amazon S3 account on your website and blogs.

This is part 4 of the 7 part video training series, “How To Create and Host Your Web Videos”.

Today we’ll look at how you can edit your videos using free software to polish them up and submit to various video sharing websites.

The software is called “Windows Movie Maker” which comes as a free tool with your Windows Operating System. In the video, you will learn how to add effects to your videos and trim out the parts that you don’t want.

A lot of people don’t realize how powerful and useful this free tool is, that is sitting on their computer. It may not have all the effects of a professional editing software, but unless you’re a professional, you won’t need it for the time being.

In this video training, I talk about how you can record a live video for the web.

This is a very inexpensive way of recording videos. It you want good quality web videos, then this is not for you.

However, for videos you want to submit to video sharing sites such as YouTube, Viddler and Revver, then it’s good enough.

All the methods I show you in this video training series are inexpensive. All the software and tools mentioned are within the price range of most people.

To check out part 1 -2 of the video training series, click on the links below:

Part 1 – How to create and host web videos

Part 2 – Using CamStudio To Record Your Desktop

Here’s part 2 of the video series “How To Create And Host Your Own Web Videos”.

In this video, you’ll learn how to use CamStudio (which is free) to record the movements on your screen.

As I mentioned, you will need a USB microphone to get decent sound quality. If the video is average, the visitors may stick around. If the audio is poor, they’ll leave.

So get a USB microphone if you can.

A little disclaimer here. I’m not an expert on making videos. I just know how to do them. If I want to create professional looking ones, I’ll get it outsourced.

I just thought it would be useful to share the information of what I know for those of you who like to do everything by yourself. But with practice, I think it’s possible to create decent web videos and promote your websites.

Enjoy.

How To Create And Host Your Own Web Videos

You need web videos for your sales page to capture your visitors’ attention, and making them take the action you want. Whether it’s to purchase a product or sign up to their newsletter.

I started to create web videos about a month ago for this blog. It took me bloody ages figuring out how to do it. One of the reasons is because there are is much information out there and everyone has different views.

Well if you like the videos I created for this blog and on my page at www.eliteghostwriters.com/report.html then check out the video series on how I did it.

This is the cheapest solution I’ve come across. I could have done it the easy way by hosting it on a Viddler business account for $99 a month or on Brightcove which charges considerably more including a set up fee. But that’s too expensive in the long run.

What I was looking for is a place to host a lot of my short videos, allowed me to play them on my website with no advertisement and enables visitors to watch them at a comfortable speed.

My solution is create video —> host on S3 Amazon —> display on website with free flash player —> Cloudfront

The actual set up is very easy after you’ve done it once. If you’re just starting out with no experience in creating web videos, it’s a bloody nightmare.

Watch this 7 part video tutorials where I explain everything in detail. It’ll save you weeks of research.
